Contains 31.2mg Chlorhexidine Gluconate.
Hexidyne is a broad-spectrum, long-acting antimicrobial and antifungal shampoo effective against bacteria and yeast infections. It can be used to treat mild to moderate bacterial dermatitis, surface proliferation of Malassezia pachydermatis, and as a pre-surgical washing solution. It is less drying than Benzodyne and does not provide keratolytic, comedolytic, or degreasing effects.
1. Trim or clip dense coats to improve product penetration and ensure even coverage.
2. Wash with a regular shampoo first to remove dirt and organic debris.
3. Apply Hexidyne to the affected areas and leave on for 5–10 minutes before rinsing.
4. Use twice weekly, then gradually reduce the frequency as required.
- Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth.
- Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the active substances or any of the excipients.
Side Effects
- Pruritus and erythema are commonly observed following treatment.
- Conjunctival inflammation may occur but usually resolves spontaneously.
