Triam-Guard 0.15mg/ml Spray

Each ml contains 0.15mg Triamcinolone acetonide.

Triam-Guard is a medium-potency corticosteroid effective for the treatment of focal or multifocal inflammatory lesions associated with allergic dermatitis. This topical spray is intended for short-term use (up to 2 months) due to potential risks, including HPA (hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal) axis suppression, cutaneous effects (e.g., alopecia and skin atrophy), and other systemic corticosteroid effects (e.g., polyuria and polydipsia).

- Spray evenly onto the lesion(s).
- Ensure the affected areas are well moistened, avoiding any run-off.
- Prevent the animal from licking the area for approximately 20–30 minutes.

Treatment Regimen:
Week 1: Apply twice daily for 7 days
Week 2: Apply once daily for 7 days
Week 3–4: Apply every other day for 14 days

- Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and nose.
- Wear gloves when applying the product.
- Use with caution in pregnant animals and small breeds.

Side Effects
- Polydipsia, polyphagia, and polyuria may occur with short-term “burst” therapy as well as with alternate-day maintenance therapy.
- Other adverse effects can include a dull, dry coat, weight gain, panting, vomiting, diarrhoea, elevated liver enzymes, and behavioural changes.
- Discontinuation of the drug may be necessary, and switching to an alternative steroid may also help alleviate these effects.
